2020 ADARA Outstanding Mental Health Service to Deaf People Award 

ADARA is seeking nominations for individuals deserving of “Outstanding Mental Health Service to Deaf People.” This award will be presented at the ADARA 2020 Breakout Conference in Massachusetts. 

The criteria for selection for a recipient of this award is: 

o Recognition of work done since the previous Breakout Conference 


o The person providing direct care to deaf people who have mental health challenges, i.e., residential care provider, peer support specialist, psychotherapist, counselor, art or recreation therapist, addiction counselor, or in any other helping professions. 

o Individuals whose role is primarily administrative will not be 


Nominations for this award must be submitted by February 28, 2020 to Stephen Roldan, ADARA President-Elect, by e-mail to 


Nomination letters should include a 150-word biography of the nominee and a 250-500 word letter explaining the attributes of the nominee and reasons for nomination. Letters of support are also welcome and should be included with the actual nomination letter.
